Boge successfully delivered an Engineering and Construction Feasibility Study for the implementation of a process capacity expansion in a Brownfield mineral processing facility.

The project was advanced from the conceptual though to a full Ready-to-Tender EPCM design and construction package.

Boge’s deliverables for the project included the following:

  • Project assessment/evaluation.

  • Economic evaluation.

  • Due diligence.

  • Project De-Risking.

  • Design criteria development.

  • Process flowsheet & mass balance development.

  • Plant Layout and Detailed Design to 90%.

  • Options Analysis.

  • Procurement Packages for Equipment and Materials.

  • +15%/-25% Capital Construction cost estimate.

  • Project Schedule and Manpower Allocation.

  • Shutdown Planning and Construction Methodology with detailed construction sequencing, as the project needed to be implemented with minimal interruption to the existing operations.

Keeyask Control Building

Boge & Boge was retained to be the Prime Consultant for a design build team for a new Control Building for a major utility in a remote project site.

Boge worked closely with sub-consultants and sub-trades to ensure all design details and specifications were determined during the design development phase to reduce construction time and improve overall project efficiency.

Site decisions were resolved quickly and project questions during the construction phase were reduced to a minimum. This diligence on Boge’s part allowed the project to be completed with near zero deficiencies and provided best-value solutions to issues addressing cost, schedule and constructability.

At 3,000 square feet, the control building was constructed as a steel superstructure on a structural slab, complete with metal liner wall system cladding. The large volume of electrical and mechanical systems required were meticulously designed and coordinated to maximize the space of the building.

In 2005, Boge and Boge (1980) Ltd. was responsible for the design, construction and commissioning of a new ore receiving facility at a mine.

The purpose of the project was to replace a temporary feed process with a permanent facility that would accommodate the handling of ore from transport trucks onto the main conveyor that feeds the mill.

Total project value was approximately $3.5 Million and was designed, constructed and commissioned within seven months and completed on schedule and on budget.

Our design-build approach included:

  • Civil – excavation, road construction, drainage, surveying

  • Structural – design and construction of a complete ore receiving pocket including steel piles, concrete works, structural steel, platforms, ramps, access ways,  connection  to the existing facility, building enclosure

  • Mechanical – fabrication and installation of conveyors, installation of new conveyor take up, vibratory feeder, hydraulic power pack, conveyor transfer points, dust enclosure, sprinkler system, complete commissioning

  • Electrical/Controls – Transformer installation, wiring of power and control, HMI, programming, integration with existing electrical system, complete commissioning

In order to minimize shutdown time for the conveyor tie-in, a detailed safety and procedural review was conducted.  The result was that the crew completed the tie-in ahead of schedule.

Our design-build approach allowed maintenance and operations personnel to see the progress and provide meaningful input into the design that translated into the final construction of the facility.  It also allowed the owner to review the progress of the project and make adjustments to the scope to suit their requirements
